Nintendo Announces Global Switch 2 Price Increases

Nintendo has announced a series of price increases for its Switch 2 console across multiple regions, affecting both current and prospective owners. According to IGN, the console’s price in the US will rise by $50, bringing the total to $499.99. The increase is part of a broader global adjustment that will also hit Canada, mainland Europe, and the UK.

In Canada, the Switch 2 will cost $679.99 starting September 1, a rise of $50 from its previous price. The euro zone will also see a hike, with the console soon priced at €499.99, an increase of €30. Notably, the price increase has already taken effect in Japan, according to Nintendo’s official announcement.

In the UK, the Switch 2’s price will increase from £395.99 to £419.99 starting September 1. This £24 increase follows similar price hikes Nintendo has announced for the US, Canada, and mainland Europe, reflecting a coordinated global pricing strategy.
