OpenAI has appointed Dali Rajic, former president and COO of cloud security firm Wiz, as its new chief revenue officer, replacing Denise Dresser after only nine months in the role. The leadership change is part of a broader reorganization at the AI lab, which has recently seen the exits of COO Brad Lightcap and Fidji Simo, who led AGI deployment.

Greg Brockman, OpenAI’s co-founder and president, announced Rajic’s appointment in a blog post, noting that Dresser had guided the revenue organization through a critical phase. Brockman emphasized that Rajic will translate the company’s learnings into consistent execution as OpenAI works to make AI broadly useful. Rajic joins from Wiz, which was acquired by Google for $32 billion earlier this year in the tech giant’s largest acquisition to date.

The leadership overhaul comes as OpenAI reports reaching over one billion weekly active users and two million businesses using its products. Despite this growth, executives have acknowledged that the company has not met all of its revenue targets. OpenAI has also filed confidentially with the SEC for a potential IPO, though no timeline has been set. The company recently completed a $7 billion tender offer, purchasing shares from employees, which some observers see as a sign that the public offering may be delayed.

In his blog post, Brockman praised Dresser’s efforts during a formative period for the business. The company has also emphasized a need for a “relentless focus” on “measurable business impact,” though those comments appear to have been removed from the published version. Under CEO Sam Altman, OpenAI has been prioritizing enterprise deployment and trimming experimental projects that do not align with that focus.
