WhatsApp has begun introducing a dedicated parental controls section for iPhone users, simplifying how parents manage oversight and restrictions on their children’s accounts. Through parent-managed accounts, parents or guardians can determine who can contact a child and which groups they can join. Access to certain features, such as channels and status, can also be restricted. Parents will have access to information about certain account activities, including new contacts, blocked users, and profile changes. This feature was previously available on Android via a separate ‘Parental Controls’ section and is now being rolled out on iOS. According to WhatsApp, this facility is intended for users below the minimum age required to use the app in their country or region, and in some cases, Apple may share the child’s age directly.
