Google has begun rolling out the Android 17 Beta 3 update, also referred to as QPR2 Beta 3, to compatible Pixel devices. This latest beta iteration focuses on resolving existing bugs while introducing a range of new features and expanded customization capabilities.
A central highlight of this update is the overhauled Quick Settings Editor. Users now have greater flexibility to arrange toggles and settings to match their personal preferences. The update also provides the ability to select which Quick Settings tiles appear in an enlarged format, offering a more tailored and accessible control panel.
Beyond the Quick Settings changes, Android 17 Beta 3 includes additional customization options. Users can now adjust the position of the brightness slider and the media player within the interface. According to reports, Google is also preparing even more themes and personalization features for the final release. These may include the ability to fine-tune color shades and introduce additional blur effects across various parts of the user interface.
Security enhancements are also a key part of this beta. The update introduces new call protection features designed to safeguard users from social engineering scams. With these changes, users may encounter additional verification prompts when dialing numbers that are linked to call forwarding. This measure is intended to reduce the risk of calls being silently redirected to another number without the user's awareness.
The QPR2 Beta 3 update is currently available for eligible Pixel devices through the Android Beta Program. Some of the new features are being released for testing purposes, and further refinements are anticipated before the stable version of Android 17 is officially launched.
