Google Adds Olive Color and New Software Features to Pixel Buds Pro 2

Google has introduced a fresh Olive color option for its Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds, accompanied by a suite of software updates aimed at enhancing noise cancellation, translation capabilities, and sleep-related functions.

The new Olive variant is now available for order through the Google Store at a promotional price of $189, down from its regular price of $229. This discounted pricing is set to remain in effect until August 23.

While the hardware design remains unchanged, Google has rolled out several new software capabilities for the earbuds, expanding their functionality within the Pixel ecosystem.

Dynamic ANC for Consistent Noise Cancellation

One of the standout updates is Dynamic ANC, a feature that automatically adjusts noise cancellation levels when the seal between the earbuds and the user's ears changes. This ensures that noise reduction remains consistent even if the earbuds shift slightly during use, providing a more stable listening experience.

Live Translate Expands to Over 70 Languages

Google has also broadened the Live Translate feature on the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Users can now tap the earbuds to activate listening mode, which translates conversations in real time across more than 70 languages—all without needing to touch their phone. Additionally, the feature allows users to speak in their own language while the connected Pixel phone plays the translated version for the other person, making cross-language communication more seamless.

Gemini Voice Controls and Sleep Detection

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 can now be controlled through Gemini voice commands, allowing users to adjust settings such as bass levels simply by speaking. Another new addition is Pixel Watch sleep sync, which works when a connected Pixel Watch detects that the user has fallen asleep. In such cases, the earbuds can automatically pause music, disable touch controls, and silence notifications, helping users maintain an uninterrupted rest.

Expanding the Pixel Ecosystem

These latest updates to the Pixel Buds Pro 2 come as Google continues to grow its connected Pixel ecosystem. The company has recently introduced the Pixel 11 series, Pixel Watch 5, and Pixel Tag, offering users more ways to connect and control devices across its hardware lineup.
